Exemption of entry visa to Vietnam – The visa exemption agreement for ordinary passport holders signed between the Government of Vietnam and Governments of 78 different countries has provided the opportunities for the citizens of these countries can visit Vietnam without an entry Vietnam visa for a period of time.

Thanks to bilateral visa exemption agreement, citizens of the following Asia countries are exempted from visa requirements and allowed to stay for not more than 30 days: Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia and Laos. The Philippines are not required to get a visa if they plan to stay less than 21 days. Those who wish to stay for more than 21 days will have to apply for a visa.

Thanks to unilateral visa exemption agreement, citizens of Japan, South Korean, Russia and citizens of Nordic countries such as Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden are exempted from visa requirements with the duration of stay which lasts no more than 15 days.

Citizens of the following countries holding valid ordinary passports for official mission are exempted from visa requirements and allowed to stay for less than 90 days including: Brazil, Armenia, Algeria, Argentina, Bangladesh, Bulgaria, Chile, Columbia, Czech, Dominican, Ecuador, El Salvador, Germany, Hungary, India, India, Iraq, Israel, Italy, Mexico, Myanmar, Moldova, Mongolia, Morocco, Mozambique, Venezuela, Pakistan, Panama, Paraguay, Poland, Serbia, Seychelles, Slovak, Slovenia and South Africa.

Citizens of Angola, Cambodia, Kazakhstan, Myanmar and China holding diplomatic passports are not required visa for stay of up to 30 days. Citizens of Uzbekistan holding diplomatic passports are exempted from visa requirement and allowed to stay for less than 60 days. Citizens of French holding diplomatic passport will enjoy visa exemption up to 3 months of stay.
