- 1. Sapa
Located in the Lao Cai Province in Northwest region of Vietnam, Sapa is considered as the best trekking spot in Vietnam, which attract plenty of foreign trekkers. The poetic and imposing beauty of mountains, hills, terrace fields and scattered ethnic minority villages highlighted by amazing weather condition is the main attraction of Sapa. More than that, Sapa has the famous highest mount in Southest Asia called Fansipan. With the height of 3,143m, it is a truly interesting challenge for trekkers.
- 2. Pu Luong National Park (Thanh Hoa Province)
Pu Luong (or Phu Luong) Nature Reserve is an area of outstanding splendor, cultural interest and high biodiversity value, situated in Quan Hoa and Ba Thuoc District of Thanh Hoa Province. The reserve is located along two parallel mountain ridges, which stretch from northwest to southeast, and are divided by a central valley. Pu Luong is blessed with rich forest, limestone panoramas, magnificent rice terraces and breathtaking scenery. You will find wonderful things about nature when trekking to Pu Luong.
- 3. Mai Chau (Hoa Binh Province)
Mai Chau is mountainous region located in Hoa Binh Province in Northeast side of Vietnam, about 160km from Hanoi. It is actually a stunning valley with lush green of jungles, paddle fields and amazing surroundings. Especially, trekking to Mai Chau, you will have chance to see stilt houses of ethnic people on the roadside. You can “homestay” overnight in these local traditional houses to explore the very unique cultures of Thai ethnic people and enjoy special traditional foods.
- 4. Cuc Phuong National Park (Ninh Binh Province)
Located 140km in the south of Hanoi, Cuc Phuong is the first national park established in Vietnam. It is famous for a very diverse biodiversity, primeval forest with oldest and hugest trees such as Cho Chi. Cuc Phuong is also featured with a lot of natural beautiful sceneries such as grottos and caves, streams and waterfalls, etc. Trekking to Cuc Phuong, you can explore many precious fauna and flora species as well as visit Muong ethnic community living in the park.

Imposing scenery of provinces in Central Highland region is another ideal address for trekkers. Located in a high terrain above the sea level, it has many mountainous and wild attractions of Truong Son range. Different from the mountain scenes of the North, the beauty of Central Highland is spectacular lakes and waterfalls, untouched and immense forest with elephants living in and large number of ethnic minority groups such as Ede, Bana, Jarai,… Notice that the ethnic minority communities in here are totally different from ones in North region in culture, tradition, costume, house and lifestyle. Langbiang, Buon Ma Thuot, Kon Tum and Yok Don National Park are popular name to trek.
- 6. Nam Cat Tien National Park
Nam Cat Tien is the national park situated in three provinces Dong Nai, Lam Dong, and Binh Thuan, in the South of Vietnam. The national park is truly well-reserved with impressive biodiversity including many ancient trees which may live for a thousand years. The system of waterfalls, rivers are also stunningly striking. Besides, it has a impressive fauna system with rare species such as Asian Elephants, Gaur, Sun Bears, Banteng, and wild Water Buffalo and Javan Rhinoceros.
- 7. Phu Quoc Island, Cat Ba Island, Con Dao Island.
These islands are not only famous for stunning beaches and undersea world, they are also national parks with diverse and pristine mainland ecosystem. If you travel to these islands, you should add trekking tour into your schedule, beside swimming, bathing, diving, etc. Forests and mountainous landscapes in these three are as amazing as other national parks in mainland.
