Vietnam nature always has a lot of mysterious beauty waiting for us to discover, the cave is one of them. Here are our country’s most beautiful caves.

The newly discovered Son Doong Cave of Vietnam has been touted as world’s largest cave, which is located in Quang Binh province, under the national park Phong Nha- Ke Bang. This beautiful cave is over 5.5 miles long, has a jungle and river, and could fit a 40 story skyscraper within its walls. Son Doong cave was first discovered by a local man in 1991. But later, by 2009, this mysterious cave was truly explored by the British Royal exploration group led by Limbert Howard.

Phong Nha- Ke Bang cave is one of the world’s two largest limestone regions. This place is unique for its dissimilar geomorphic, geologic and biotic conditions that could not be found in any other cave in the world.  Phong Nha is regarded as the home of the oldest major karst in Asia, which can be traced back to the Paleozoic era, about 400 million years ago.

Phong Nha Cave is famous for its fascinating rock formations, enchanting visitors with evocative name such as “Lion”, “Kylin”, “Vo Chau” or “Buddha”. With a length of 7.729m, 83meter in depth and 50 meter in height, Phong Nha- Ke Bang also boasts dozens of large and small caves including Bi Ki cave, Fairy Caves, Royal Court, etc.

Nearly 100km from Hanoi, Tam Cong- Bich Dong is one of the famous attraction areas of Ninh Binh Province regarded as “Halong bay on land”.

Riding boat along the crystal poetic Ngo Dong River, visitor will respectively explore three beautiful caves including Tam Coc including Hang Ca, Hang Hai and Hang Ba cave, among which Hang Ca is round 127m long with a cave mouth of 20m wide possessing variety majestic natural arts with caves, grottos, and historic relic deep inside such as: Thai Vi Temple, Bich Cave pagoda, Tam grotto, Tien Cave, Linh Coc pagoda.

4. Dau Go

Located on Driffwood Island, Dau Go attracts visitors by its ancient and pristine beauty.

Dau Go Cave was created around 2 million years ago. The cave is 27m above the sea level. The entrance is 12m wide and 17m high. Inside the cave is a huge space with the size of 5.000 square meters with the height of the dome is 25m. Dau Go has numerous stone columns, stone pillars, and petite stalagmites with many vivid shapes. This cave is specifically divided into three compartments; each one is featured by the completely different style of hundreds of stalactites falling down from the roof of grotto look like a waterfall.

Every year around Tet, there is variety flock of Buddhists coming to the Huong Tich. Huong Tich Grotto is a part of the Perfume Pagoda on Perfume Mountain. In this 18th century, Lord Tinh Sam had carved five words on the granite slab at the entrance to Huong Tich Grotto, “Nam Thien De Nhat Dong” appreciating the “most beautiful grotto under southern sky”.

Visiting to Huong Tich grotto, visitors can have a good chance to enjoy many colorful stalagmites and stalactites within the cave. Each has its evocative named such as Cay Gao- Tice Stick, Cay Vang- Golden Stick, Nui Co- the Maiden and Nui Cau- the youth. Vietnamese strongly believed that the family who wish for children can pay homepage to Huong Tich Grotto and especially visit Nui Co and Nui Cao can meet their desire.
